All employees are required to maintain their yearly training hours mandated by Bright From The Start. We don’t have “set” schedules, each position must have open availability from 7 am – 7 pm. Lead teachers are responsible for the academic, social-emotional growth and development of all children in their care. Leads are expected to develop a partnership with parents that encourage parent’s participation in our program, as well as maintain compliance with ALL BFTS rules and regulations. You must also possess the ability to effectively complete age-appropriate weekly lesson plans, exhibit excellent communication skills, problem-solve, maintain exceptional record-keeping, and perform evaluations. Our focus is making sure that children are actively engaged in a healthy safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment on an on-going basis. All lead teachers must have at least a CDA, TCC or higher, a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a state-certified child care center, and the ability to pass a LiveScan fingerprint background check.
The assistant teachers must be able to assists in planning and implementing developmentally and linguistically appropriate activities; that recognize and supports each child’s rate of development. He or she will assist in assessing the safety of the classroom and outdoor play areas before engaging children in activities. Help with organizing the classroom environment into areas to be used for learning, eating, resting, and playing in accordance with the Creative Curriculum here at Joyful Praise. You will accompany the children to and from the classroom, playground, and out of center activities always maintaining an accurate attendance check and headcount. You will adhere to the daily schedule of child-initiated and teacher-initiated activities daily; while maintaining staff and classroom ratios at all times. Assistants must lead the classroom in the absence of the Lead Teacher.
The person selected for this position will be responsible to serve as a floater and assist the classroom teachers in the general supervision and management of a classroom of children, and/or provide assistance to the staff as needed. The ideal candidate must be a loving, nurturing, Christian child care provider to assist teachers as needed. A flexible nature is needed for this ‘floater’ position.
